The Shake UP training community is a collective of amazing individuals. Hard working people from all walks of life who come together with a common cause. It’s time to find out what gets our members Shaking! What is the sound track to your fitness journey? If we asked you to drop 100 burpees right now, what tunes would see you through?

Music has an incredible power to take us back; to allow our minds to revisit a great memory and in the dark moments of your Shake UP session, can provide that much needed lift to get you through!

Mix Master Shaker is giving our members a chance to hear their all time workout playlist at a Shake UP session.

We are looking for your top 10 workout tunes!  The only requirement is that these tunes have a good beat and a fast..ish tempo. All this means is that, we won’t be playing any Celine Dion!

Recently we caught up with legendary Shaker, Corinne Gilday. Corinne recently committed to her 2nd year with the Shake UP team and we are absolutely stoked to have her bright smile and super friendly attitude in our community! We asked Corinne to give us an insight into her world. We are looking for her top 10 workout tunes, with a short, sharp explanation for why each song made it into her top 10…Lets take a look at how Corinne rolls…

1. Fatboy Slim – “The Rockafeller Skank”

Pumps you up… then picks you up again when you start dragging.

2. The Black Keys – “Howling for You”

The Black Keys always have a soft spot in my music collection, but this song particularly just makes me happy. Easy to move to.

3. Art vs. Science – “A.I.M FIRE”

Memories of bouncing around with friends in a messy, muddy, moshpit. Upbeat and fast paced, it keeps me moving without noticing the time being passed.

4. Depeche Mode – “Personal Jesus”

Old but gold. One of my and my dads favourites – it’s another song where I get lost enough in the music to forget how many seconds and minutes are passing.

5. Kanye West – “Power”

Reminds me of dancing in the rain at Splendour in the Grass, good memories = good mood/attitude!

6. Red Hot Chilli Peppers – “Suck My Kiss”

A little more moody, so good to get the mongrel out and burpee to! Push out the reps so you can sit back and enjoy a good head bang.

7. The White Stripes – “Seven Nation Army”

Nothing beats the bass and drums. The perfect tempo to smash out your reps and let the moodiness take over in the hard part of a workout – those last few minutes where you want to flip off Ben and vomit at the same time. 😉

8. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – “Can’t Hold Us”

This was my contiki song for 22 days through Europe… We were exhausted, sick, and more than a little hung over but this song motivated us to get up and do amazing things… it can push me through anything when I’m struggling.

9. Peking Duk – “High”

This song is purely in here because it makes me want to dance. The build up makes for a good sprints song – it even makes it bearable.

10. Queen – “We Will Rock You”

One could say a cliché, another a classic. Regardless this song brings me sheer determination like only Freddy can.

This is a pretty sick looking playlist and we cant wait to hear these thumpers cranking out of the Shake UP speakers! Friday the 8th of May is when we will be playing Corinne’s playlist.  A huge thanks to Corinne for giving us a sneak peak into her world of music. We will throw a pair of Punish Boxing wraps your way for your efforts legend.
