At the Shake UP, we are blessed with a community that is filled with inspiring people that you just want to be around more often! It is our mission to create training communities that influence and inspire through a culture of positive energy. Its guys like Dean Kenway who are bringing the Shake UP vision to life!
Dean is our September Shaker of the month. This dude totally lifts the energy at every session and just seems to radiate positive energy. What we admire most about Dean and his humble approach to life is that he is always looking to grow and become a better version of himself. An amazing husband, father and grandfather who understands the importance of having a strong balance across all areas of life.
We recently caught up with Dean to find out what it takes to run a successful business, be a great family man and still find time to train the house down!
So Deano, tell us a bit about yourself?
Ok I am pushing 50 years old, I am happily married to my beautiful wife Kerrie and have been for 26 years. I am an electrician and run a family business called Reef Cosa Electrical. I have 2 boys with great girls in their lives and 1 grandchild…and I am loving life and loving being a grandfather.
How long have you been training at The Shake UP?
It must be 18 months now! I guess an original PBC Shake UP member!
Why do you train Deano? I train to stay on top of life both physically and mentally. It’s great to know that I can put myself through pretty challenging conditions and come out the other side stronger.
What gets you through a session? What’s your motivator?
I guess I think about giving it everything because it’s a short session. I want to get the most out of the time I allocate for training so I like to give it my all. I know how great it feels to walk away from a tough session knowing that I gave it everything.
What keeps you coming back to the Shake UP Deano?
The people and the comradery amongst everyone here. I like that the sessions are short and always very different. It works well with my busy schedule.
Worst exercise? Reverse Bear Crawl!
Dean is our September Shaker of the month and we couldn’t be happier! For his continued commitment Dean receives a well-earned massage from Pete Griffin at Palm Beach Chiropractic and some very delicious Probiotics from Cindy at A Cultured Life.
A huge thanks to Pete and Cindy for the wicked support to the legends of our local community!
