Are you hitting the gym 4 or 5 times a week and not seeing results?
Losing motivation? Feel like you’re stuck in a rut? You are not alone.
We see it way too often. People trying to do the right thing, going to the gym and watching what they eat, with a vague idea of what they want, but no real plan on how to get there.
You’ve got the latest active wear, your trainers match your singlet – you’re killing it!
Buuuuut….you’re just going through the motions and hoping you’ll magically achieve your goals.
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result” – Albert Einstein. We reckon ‘Big Al’ knew what he was talking about!
Quit the gym!
If it aint working, give it the flick!!
Don’t get me wrong, the gym is great for some. If you are one of the few who loves to push themselves to the max, who needs no motivation to kick their own ass, you give 100% at every session and leave red-faced, gasping for breath, leaving a trail of sweat and wide-eyed gym-goers wondering what that whirlwind of an athlete was…you will get results.
Sound like you?? Nope?
What you need to get results is a training environment that you look forward to going to.
Somewhere you are surrounded by positive and like-minded people who are your friends, your peers – normal people – who all want the same thing as you.
Somewhere you will be kept accountable, where you have access to nutritional guidance, and a supportive team who care about you reaching your goals.
And if they deliver kick-ass workouts as well, you are just being spoiled! ; )
Our February Shaker of the Month, Faezeh Nabiollahi was going through the motions, doing what she thought was the right thing, but wasn’t seeing the results she expected from hitting the gym 5 times a week. Until she had the courage to step out of her comfort zone. Faezeh has hit the ground running since she joined The Shake UP 4 months ago. She is fitter, stronger, moving, feeling and looking better than she ever has! She has seen more results in the last 4 months than she did in 12 months at the gym!!
Why? She found her groove.
She enjoys what she does, and she puts in the effort required to make change. Faezeh has been such a pleasure to have within The Shake Up Community. She always pushes herself and others to be their best, she is always positive, and along with her husband Payman, have not only stepped up their training, but have stepped out of their comfort-zone and taken on The Shake UP 10-Week Challenge.
The dramatic changes Faezeh and Payman have both seen in the past 4 months are well deserved and are a testament to the hard work and discipline which they show each day, and which they are teaching to their gorgeous daughter Ella.
Congratulations on Shaker of the Month, and good luck with your continued success!
Thank you so much for the energy and positivity that you bring to every session!

Tell us a little bit about yourself Faezeh…
My husband Payman trains with me at The Shake UP, he is a big support, and we have a daughter, Ella who is in grade 3.
I decided to go to the gym to lose weight and get into shape because I’ve never exercised before. Payman was pushing me, we are getting older, so it’s time to start taking it seriously. We started at the gym in October 2015. I was going consistently every day, or every second day until I met you, and we decided The Shake UP was a better option for us – and we get better results, so now I’m sticking to the plan, and I’m focused on the target and that’s driving me towards my goal. It’s challenging though. When I see or smell bread and rice, I crave it because I’ve grown up with carbohydrates – in my culture, we have rice almost every day so it’s a big challenge for us – it’s life-changing.
It’s even changed our daughter, Ella’s life. She can see what we are eating, and she doesn’t eat chocolate anymore, and she asks me “Mummy, does this have too much sugar? Can I eat it?” Which is great, she is following our example. Her snacks now are carrots or some other vegetables.
How long have you been with The Shake UP?
We started in October
Can you tell me one achievement that you are proud of to date:
The last 3 weeks, eating the good carbs and cutting out the bad ones. I’ve never done it before. At work everybody is eating chips, biscuits, pasta, and even though I feel like it, I crave it, I still say no. That’s something to be proud of.
To make the changes you’ve made, you have to push yourself pretty hard during the workouts, what is it that gets you through a workout?
Hearing from you. Listening to what you say and I look at people around me doing better than me. That drives me forward. I don’t look at people slower than me, that’s my personality, I always look above me and that drives me further. I also think “I got up early on my Saturday morning, I gave up my sleep, so I have to make it worth-while”. I go through waves, but I try to stop any negativity going through my mind and just keep going.
So what is it that you like about The Shake UP? What keeps you coming back?
It’s short and sweet. There is always a friendly environment, I love the training and I love the atmosphere
Can you tell us how The Shake UP has impacted your every day life?
It works. I can see the results. I can see the changes in my body already since October, and now that am doing the 10 week challenge, I’m learning new recipes and changing the way I eat.
Which exercise is your least favourite?
Running… and Burpees… and ball slams, because I like to challenge myself with the weight, it might be too much, but I want to push myself.
