What is Young Guns?

Young Guns is a coach-led strength and conditioning program for kids and teenagers designed to build strength, coordination, athletic ability, and confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

The program focuses on proper technique, body control, and developing strong movement patterns, helping young athletes become stronger, faster, and more resilient.

What ages is the program for?

Young Guns currently has two age groups:

Kids: 8–11 years
Teens: 12–16 years

Each session is designed to suit the developmental stage of the group.


How many session per week should my child attend?

Kids (8–11 yrs)
1 session per week is recommended.

Teens (12–16 yrs)
Teens can attend 1 or 2 sessions per week depending on their sport, schedule, and training goals.

Does my child need to play a sport to join?

No. While many participants play sports like AFL, Rugby League, netball, or soccer, the program is also great for kids who simply want to get stronger, fitter, and more confident.

Is strength training safe for kids and teenergers?

Yes, when it is properly coached and age appropriate.

Young Guns sessions are supervised by experienced coaches who focus on:

  • Correct technique
  • Bodyweight and resistance training
  • Gradual progression
  • Injury prevention

The goal is to build strong, resilient bodies, not lift heavy weights.


What will they actually do in a session?

Sessions include a mix of:

  • Warm-ups and movement preparation
  • Strength exercises
  • Speed, agility and coordination drills
  • Core training
  • Conditioning and fitness games

Sessions are structured to be challenging, engaging and fun.

What should they bring?

Participants should bring:

  • Comfortable training clothes
  • Enclosed training shoes
  • Water bottle
  • A positive attitude


Who coaches the sessions?

Sessions are run by qualified strength and conditioning coaches who specialise in youth training and focus on helping young athletes move well, train safely, and build confidence.

How do I get my child started?

The best way to start is to book a trial session so they can experience the program and meet the coaches.
