All too often people put up with uncool situations because the effort of making change seems scarier than the current situation. We just accept unhappiness because we are afraid of being out of our comfort zone.
GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE PEOPLE!!
It won’t be easy, but it will definitely be worth it.
Everyone deserves to be happy, and you are the only one that can control your happiness.
Just ask our May Shaker of the Month, Allison Field.
Alli has made some impressive physical changes since joining The Shake UP – completely changing her body shape, and her attitude towards training, but after my chat with Alli, my respect has grown even more.
Alli realized she was in a dark place and instead of just accepting this as her lot, she stepped out of her comfort zone and took control of her own happiness. This takes serious courage and we are so stoked for you Alli.
From all of us here at The Shake UP, we hope you are proud of how far you have come and excited about how much more there is to achieve!
Here’s to “The Year of Allison”
So Alli, tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m 37 years old, single, and a menace to society ; )
At the moment I’m trying to work on ‘me’ – It’s “The Year of Allison!”
I need to be a better me. I was a very depressed and unhappy me so I needed a change to feel better about myself.
And how is that going for you?
Pretty damn good! I feel much better, I feel energized.
Just getting on with the day is not a task anymore, I just do it. Whereas before it was really hard work just to get through the day.
What was it that brought you to The Shake UP?
I needed to change, so I wanted to come and start making some changes for myself, but my friend Rachel kicked me into gear… and then I met you …and that’s it! Six months later and here we are.
That’s the longest I’ve ever served, ha ha…
So what is it that drives you to train?
My little black dress – When we first met and we talked about my goals, I mentioned clothes-wise what I wanted to fit into…I’ve still got the little black dress, it’s sitting in the wardrobe, I see it every day. I’m tempted to put it on, but I’m not ready yet…I’m close.
I just need to be happy. I feel I’m getting happier every time.
(A couple of days after our chat, Alli told me she found the courage to try on that little black dress…..it fits!! You legend)
Can you tell us something that you are proud of achieving since joining The Shake UP community?
Getting under 70kg!
Just doing this (training) every week. Because I would never have done that before. It’s not something I’ve ever done. I’ve done group sports, but I’ve never been fully dedicated.
Every one tells me how much I’ve changed I’m hearing “good on you” all the time…that’s pretty motivating.
What is it that gets you through a workout?
That little black dress. I need to fit into that little black dress.
I just want to look and feel better. I think that will keep me happy. I Don’t want to slide back to feeling depressed and feeling gross. I don’t like ‘Shitty Alli.’
What keeps you coming back to the Shake UP Alli?
It’s quick. It’s not easy, it’s never easy. I like that it is always different. I never know what I’m going to be doing and I always feel just blaah..like I’m gonna vomit after every session so I know I’ve done something good.
Which exercise is your least favourite?
Those roll-up thingys. Roll-ups. They suck.
You’re killing it Alli, thank you for being so open with us and congratulations on Shaker of the Month. We are super excited to announce that our Robina Shaker of the month will receive a remedial massage from the amazing Ellie at Balanced Remedial Solutions. Thank you so much for your support Ellie. We are really looking forward to forging a strong alliance with you.
