What is Myotherapy/remedial massage?

Myotherapists/Remedial therapists help repair damaged tissue, reduce stiffness and pain, increase mobility and improve quality of life. Its applications range from health promotion to injury prevention, acute care, chronic care, rehabilitation, maintenance and functional mobility.

How does Mypotherapy/remedial massage work?

Myotherapy/remedial therapy assists with functional mobility and its principles towards strength and stability. On initial consultation there will be a thorough assessment used to gather information on imbalances and assymetries which lead to injury. And it is with this knowledge a specialised treatment schedule and exercise regime is applied to the client.

The treatment itself may involve short periods of trigger point techniques, myofascial release, Muscle energy techniques and deep tissue manipulation. Along with this, the therapist may also add specific stretching techniques that could be causing muscle tissue to restrict optimal movement.
