There is no doubt about it, people come to the Shake UP to be around great people! Our communities attract, positive, like minded individuals who enjoy meeting friendly crew and training hard!
Our August Shaker of the Month is one very cool chick who motivates many, is perpetually smiling and continually goes above and beyond to ensure that all of our members are made to feel welcome!
Mil has been smashing herself at the Shake UP for the past 15 months and we can honestly say that her training energy completely changes the dynamic of the session and the people around her! That is what group training is all about!
What we respect most about this inspirational girl though is that she makes our training program a habitual part of her life while raising an amazing family of four daughters and husband Milton. You gota admire a mother of 4 girls that just chargers her way to training, scooter under one arm and 6 year old daughter Tahnee under the other! Talk about leading by example!
Millie is rested and ready for more after taking a well-deserved week off training. We caught up with Mil to find out what it takes to be a SUPER MUM!
G’day Mil, Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am a mum of 4 very busy girls, Anika 17, Sarah 15 , Myka 13 and Tahnee 6 . The girls are super active which means I am the netball mum, touch footy mum you name it! My husband Milton works away 11 on 5 off which is tough since I work part time also. My day generally begins at 5.30am and normally wraps up around 10.30pm.
How long have you been training at The Shake UP for ?
Umm, about 14 or 15 months I think. It’s awesome. I would never go anywhere else! I thought about changing things up at the end of my last 12 months but when I think about leaving there is really nowhere else I’d rather be right now!
What keeps you coming back to the Shake UP?
The workouts! They are all tough and high intensity. I love the strength training and the mental toughness that I get from this. My weeks are pretty tough as we don’t really have the family support out here in Australia so Tahnee is usually here with me while I train. I love the people and that I can always come here and get a great workout and have a laugh.
How does the strength that you take out of this training environment help you as a super busy mum?
Mentally, physically and emotionally this strengthens me. It strengthens me both here and at home with the girls. I really want to set that strong, positive example to the girls. I never really had that example, my mother was amazing but in those days it was more a woman’s place at home. My daughters are all right into their sport and I love knowing that they are inspired by my influence.
Recently you posted on social media that you were taking a week off. Can you tell us about that?
My reasoning behind my week off…sometimes in life you just need to stop, stop and take some time to recoup, to just let your body and mind recover. I think when you’re doing intense training week in and week out you have to listen to your body. If anything, it has done my mind and body good! A week off will do you more good than harm….and my family loved it!
Whats your worst exercise?
Probably running. I am definitely not a runner!
Wow! What an amazing woman! We are truly honoured to have Millie as a part of our training community and hope that all of the hard working mums out there can draw some serious inspiration from what this legend is achieving!
A very deserved winner of the Shaker of the Month! Thanks to the Zarraffas Pacific Pines crew for rewarding the extraordinary people in our local community!$50.00 of delicious coffee is coming your way Mil! Enjoy…
