Kellie-Ann Lewis Shaker of the Month, April ’16

At the Shake UP we are constantly asking “Why do some achieve training success while others don’t? What is the winning ingredient?”
Why do some move forward in leaps and bounds while others take the slow road?

This isn’t an easy question to answer and there are so many different ingredients that need to come together in the right measure to make that magic recipe for success.
Whatever those ingredients are – and they’re different for everyone – the end result that ultimately makes the difference is ATTITUDE.
The common thread in all those members that we see kicking ass and achieving their goals is that ‘give it all’ attitude. They give 100% at every session and they get the rewards.

This month’s Shaker of the Month has got that attitude and she is kicking ass and making changes.
Kellie-Ann started with us in January and took a little while to find her feet, but a few weeks in, the attitude shift was massive. She found her ‘WHY’ and found her groove. Kell stepped it up a few notches and is now unstoppable! She always pushes herself, she always gives it 100% and she is seeing amazing changes – physically and mentally. She even got her new bod out in a bikini in Hawaii!! Go Kell!

We had a chat to Kell and here is what she had to say:

Tell us a little bit about yourself Kell
I am married with 2 kids. My husband’s name is Martin, and my two boys are Dane and Ryan who are 11 and 9.
I like chocolate and 80’s music.

You’ve been a part of The Shake UP Community since January, what was it that brought you here?
My girlfriend. I saw the results she got with The Shake UP so I wanted to try it out.
I wanted to be a bit fitter and healthier. I’m a bit of a couch potato. I still am, but at least now I get out and do The Shake UP.

Can you share with us something that you have achieved since joining The Shake UP that you are proud of?
I’m still coming. That’s an achievement.
My fitness – I’ve noticed that my fitness has improved and I’m starting to see results. My clothes are getting looser, and my body shape is finally starting to change. I wore a bikini while I was in Hawaii – that was HUGE!

To make those changes, you have to push yourself pretty hard during the workouts, what is it that gets you through a workout?

Finishing. I just want to finish.
I don’t make excuses, I enjoy it. I used to make excuses at the gym, but I don’t here. I really like The Shake UP, it suits me.

So what is the difference? Why do you enjoy The Shake UP so much?

It’s quick, it’s not pretentious, it’s outdoors and everyone here has the same goal in mind. Honestly, I think it’s fabulous. I’m up early, it’s only 25 minutes. I get it done and I’m home by 6:45am and I’m seeing results.
I love it, I love coming. It suits me and it makes me want to come all the time.

Which exercise is your least favourite?
Burpees! Hands down and tricep dips. They’re hard. I don’t want to have tuck-shop arms, but they’re hard.
My goal is to do a proper burpee, that’s what I’m aiming for. Watching Dom (Olsen) smashing them out on Saturday made me want to do them better.

That is awesome Kell! The fact that one of your goals is to get better at your most hated exercise shows that you are willing to do what it takes to get results. You are winning the mental battle and it is showing in your results physically.
